Nicholas and soccer

Today he had his last soccer game before the tournaments next week. They won 8-2. It was the best game they had played all season!!! Now they will play Tuesday night and IF they win that game, we go to finals on Thursday night. So stay tuned ...

I made another cupcake card today with some awesome cupcake paper that Cathi (cecescraps) sent me. I love this paper and now I need more!! (I used it all on my swap Cathi! LOL)

Emily's end of year soccer party ...

was yesterday after school. They gave out 3 awards. She got an award for best offense player. Her friend Elizabeth got best defense player and they gave one award to the only graduating senior but I dont' remember what that was. We grilled out burgers and hotdogs and the coach said he WILL be back for next season so we will play again in January. Meanwhile, Nicholas' soccer season is winding down. We play one more game today and depending on whether we win or lose, we go to the final tournament games either Mon or Thursday nights of next week. I still have not heard back from my pen pal so I have no idea if they have left NYC or not. I am just waiting on her phone call so I know whether or not to head to Memphis to meet them. Hopefully I will hear something today!

This week has flown by and I haven't posted since Monday?

What's up with that? My poor blogger friends will not come back anymore. LOL So this week has been a busy one. We have only 1 week and 2 days left of school so that's winding down. Nicholas' soccer season is just about over .. we did a "double header" last night (I don't think its called that in soccer but still ...). Nicholas is on the 11-12 yo team since he was 12 when he signed up for the spring. But the 13-15 yo team needed 2 extra players so Nicholas stayed to play on their team too. Those "older" kids sure can kick that ball!! It was fun to watch and Nicholas will be on their team in the Fall. Hard to believe we are signing up for Fall soccer already!! Tonight is Emilys' end of year soccer party. Its at a park and we are in charge of bringing sodas so I bought 8 2 liter bottles - I hope its enough. I got 1 of everything! Wednesday Ellie came over for a few hours and we had fun stamping. I made a couple more ATC's.

My pen pal Tonia from Australia sent me a post card from NYC. She and her husband Richard are in the states for about a month. I met Tonia 2 years ago in Las Vegas. We have been pen pals for 18 years now. They will be driving from NYC to Memphis (they want to see Graceland) today and tomorrow (15 hour drive) so I may be meeting them in Memphis on Sunday. Still waiting to finalize everything but I will be ready at the drop of a hat. Then when I get back, I head to Springfield, MA for the rubberstamp convention on Fri-Mon. So I will have another packed week coming up. Stay tuned :).

I did manage to make 1 card while Ellie was here.

The winner of my blog candy is ...

Kimmyqtgirl. Woo hoo Kimmy. Please email me your address and I will get your "loot" right out. Nicholas drew your name, you are the lucky winner :).

I hope everyone is having a fantabulous Memorial Day weekend. We had Nicholas' soccer game today, in the rain but we sat there with umbrellas and watched. It was actually the coolest Memorial Day weekend I have ever seen - it was 60 degrees at the game and I was "chilly". It did warm up to 82 degrees after the rain stopped.

Charlie and the kids took me out for mexican tonight

for my birthday which is actually tomorrow. After we ate, DH asked if they do anything for birthdays. Of course they do. I should've known. All of the waiters come over and sing H.B. to me in spanish. She has this cute dish of fried ice cream and she starts to put the spoon up to my mouth (or so I thought!). So i open my mouth thinking she is going to give me a bite - wrong! She put a dab of cool whip on my right cheek, then my left cheek, then my forehead, then my nose, then my chin. Then she put it in my mouth. We laughed and laughed. Thank god no one had a camera!! I am sure i looked ridiculous!!

The kids are still laughing, an hour later.

Finally got our 2nd garden planted ...

Our first garden that we planted in late March never took. We tried our luck at starting with seeds last time and it did not work. So we will have to remember next year to just buy the plants already started. We got squash, zucchini, watermelon, cantelope and LOTS AND LOTS of tomatoes. As soon as we got it all planted, it started pouring down rain. Some of the hardest rain I have ever seen ... lol But at least we got it all planted.

Saturday Ellie & I went to a Memory Box make & take class. We had fun and yes, I managed to buy a few Memory Box stamps. After there she took me a scrapbook store in Charlotte that I had never been to and they had stamps there too so I managed to buy a new Gruffies stamp there. Here are a few photos
(first 2 photos is what we made in the class)

I have some personal things going on at home

so if I don't post to my blog for awhile, that is why. Charlie & I celebrated our 17th anniversary yesterday. 17 years ago we were on Magen's Bay in St. Thomas getting married barefoot on the beach. WOW, 17 years ago!! We went out to dinner last night and it was nice. We tried a new chinese buffet and we both ate too much but it was pretty good.

Still haven't gotten our 2nd garden in but hope to by the end of the week. I am in a Christmas Card swap where we make 10 cards a month so by December, we will have 120 cards made. I haven't stamped anything in over a week but I did make these 2 cards today. I love these Elzybell stamps.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms!!

Its been a hectic week here which is why I haven't written on my blog lately. Today we have been under a tornado warning for several hours. The tornado came through Concord but missed us, thank goodness. All is fine now and the sun is shining. The kids each made me the cutest Mothers' Day cards and they got me a new fan for my stamp room (its always too hot in the summer) so that was a nice surprise. I took a photo of a rainbow outside the back window so we'll see if I can download that later.

I accidentally deleted my blog list on the right

so bear with me while I try and add everyone back in. I hope I can find everyone's blog addresses....

School projects ...

here is one Nicholas worked on this weekend. He had to build a castle that was no larger or wider than 9". He could not use legos or food. He had to add 8-10 things to it for a good grade. He had to add a moat, tower, holes in the tower, murder holes, drawbridge, portcullis, arrow loops, postern gate, battlements, and a bailey. I didn't even know what half of these things were till I read the directions. LOL It came out good don't you think? I hope he gets a A+!

Castle from the outside

Inside of the castle. Notice all the little extras he added?

Happy 13th Birthday Nicholas!!

WOW, I can't believe you are now officially a teenager and now we have not 1 but 2 teenagers in the house. I sure hope "we" survive it! LOL
